(16) Boston, Febru On Tuesday last His Excellency the governor was pleased to send a message by the secretary to the Honorable House of Representatives directing their attendance forthwith in the Council chamber. Governor Johnstone's speech on the question of recommitting the address declaring the colony of Massachusets Bay in rebellion.

To which is added the two most masterly letters of Junius, to the people of England in favour of the Americans. by: Johnstone, George, Solicitor General's reports upon several Acts of the General Assembly of New York, Oct. 5, '96—April 23rd, '97 and March 2nd, 98/99—May 16th,read. By an act passed in the yearunder the reign of William III., the commissions of the judges were continued quamdiu bené se gesserint; or the power of displacing them was taken from the crown, and their continuance in office was made solely dependent on the faithful discharge of their duties, so that it might be lawful to remove.
